On the 12th Date of Christmas

Blurb:

After being mugged, Robin Sorenson is left shaken and her spirit in humanity is broken. Worse, she's not sure how to deal with the new anxieties or who to confide in, since she's always preached to pick oneself up and move on. Yeah, she's been the go to girl when anyone's had problems. Christmas is coming, and her belief in magic and miracles has faded.

Then Jonas comes back.

Jonas Aimes made a mistake when he walked away from Robin a year earlier. A big one. He'd loved her, always had and still does, but his desire to please his aging and strict parents took precedence. Back from the overseas internship they'd struggled to get him in, he plans on winning Robin back. What he didn't count on was discovering the shell of the vivacious woman he'd loved.@

Broken.

Remembering her love of Christmas, Jonas pulls the holiday heartstrings. What? All is fair and love and war, right?

Twelve days, Twelve Dates.

Robin is speechless when Jonas not only refuses to leave her alone, but dares her to accept his cheesy holiday-themed challenge. Twelve dates to give him a chance to prove that he loves her and is never leaving her again.

But in the season known for miracles, can Robin find the magic needed to open her heart and faith once more ... or will she forever wonder about the ghost of the Christmas past that could have been?

Excerpts:

"Are you going to marry Mr. Jonas?"

Robin had to keep her hands steady on the wheel at the shock of the question. "Why do you ask that?"

"Well, Mr Jonas is a Santa's helper and you two like each other. Daddy-Jacob is a Santa's helper and now he loves Mommy and they are being married. You and Mr. Jonas make the same faces when you see each other that Mommy and Daddy-Jacob do."

This boy was way too wise for his young age. He picked up on things that sometimes even adults didn't.

"I don't think we're going to get married any time soon, Ben," she said softly. No, they had way too many unresolved issues that hadn't even come close to surfacing yet. His family for instance, just to name one.

"But he likes you. And you like him. Why not?"

Ahh, there came the inquisitive side of Ben. How could she make him understand.

"How do you know he likes me and that I like him, young one?" Robin teased.

Ben sighed in his childlike exasperation. "I already told you! You make weird faces at each other." He acted as if that were the answer that made the most perfect sense. He raised his hands in the air for emphasis. No doubt he got that hand gesture talk from Cheyenne, who did that kind of thing all the time.

She laughed lightly while driving up the aisles, searching for a decent place to park. "When I park, I want you to show me the faces you say we make."

"I can do that!" Ben said proudly. He sounded all too excited about the idea.

Robin chuckled. She bet he could. Pulling into a spot surprisingly close to the front, she turned off the engine. "All right, mister. I want to see these faces." She turned back to look at him. His grin was wide and mischievous as he made a variation of faces that had her laughing so hard, her stomach hurt. "You mean to tell me we look that silly?" She covered her stomach with her hand, trying to calm down.

"Yes! You guys are very silly!" Ben nodded as if he were in authority.

"Oh my. I'm going to have to remember that. I can't be making such silly faces and having cute little boys like you mocking me," Robin teased.

"You told me to show you!" Ben stuck his tongue out at her.

She laughed again. "Yes, I sure did. I'm glad you told me just how silly I've been. Ready to go inside?"

Ben unbuckled himself in record time. He stood next to the car before she'd even come around to his side.

"Well, that answers my question. Did you lock the door?" Ben nodded in response as he took her hand. "Okay, good. Let's go then. I don't want to keep you out too long. Everyone is looking forward to fun tonight."

MY 5 STAR REVIEW:
A beautiful, heartwarming Christmas story with a touch of drama and suspense. Robin is trying to overcome the obstacles in her past. Jonas is trying to put his life back together. Will the spirit of the Christmas season help them to overcome their past and see what's important and right there in front of them?
The characters are realistic and deep. I instantly loved each one of them.
This is a great book to curl up and read with a blanket and a cup of cocoa!

On the 12th Date of Christmas is a standalone book, but there is another story that's connected, just by the same characters. The book that started it all. The Secret Santa Wishing Well tells the story of Jacob and Cheyenne, and Robin plays a big role in that story.

Blurb: The magic of Christmas has been lost to Jacob Winston. At the suggestion of his ill sister, Jacob takes a job as a Secret Santa at the mall, hoping to restore his Christmas spirit. Even that doesn't seem to work, until a special little boy ambles up to make a very special wish...
Cheyenne Jensen is struggling to raise her two kids without the help of her ex-husband who refuses to acknowledge his daughter's existence and doesn't provide for the son he does. This Christmas is shaping up to be as heartbreaking as the last, until her son Ben's kind actions lead a stranger to them.
Ah, but it's Christmas time and the magic has begun.
When Jacob and Cheyenne meet, neither can deny their immediate attraction to one another. As situations arise that require they spend more time together, their feelings grow stronger and stronger.
With Christmas fast approaching, the pair learn what matters most in life. Now, if only they could ditch the ghost of Christmases past.
Maybe this holiday will bring some wishes come true- for everyone after all.
